Senior Manager: Risk Management & Business Continuity , Telkom

Oliver Magabane is a Senior Manager responsible for risk management and business continuity at Telkom SOC Limited. He has 26 years of experience within the telecommunications and banking industries. He is an expert in Enterprise Risk Management, Business Continuity, ESG Risk Management, Compliance Management, Fraud Management, and has exposure to other assurance functions such as occupational health & safety, revenue assurance and cybersecurity. He held a number of roles in Vodacom, Absa & Barclays Africa, Liquid Intelligent Technologies.

He worked with consultants and academics on the climate risks scenarios for the telecommunication environment.

He has presented at a number of conferences in both banking and telecommunications industries.

He is a finalist for the IRMSA Risk Specialist of the Year for 2026.

He is a member of the Institute of Risk Management of Southern Africa (IRMSA). He is also a member of the Communications Risk Information Centre (COMRIC)’s Business Resilience workstream.
